Gov. Otu flags off rehabilitation of two major roads in cross river state

Governor of Cross River state, Bassey Otu has flagged off the rehabilitation of two major roads in Yala and Ogoja Local Government Areas, marking a significant milestone in his administration’s infrastructure development agenda.

The project is expected to boost economic activities, improve transportation, and enhance the overall wellbeing of residents in the affected areas.

For years, residents of Yala and Ogoja Local Government Areas suffered in silence, forced to navigate risky roads that seemed to stretch.

Potholes and cracks tell the story of this community.

But the landscape has changed as Governor Bassey Otu, fulfilled his promise to transform the roads and uplift lives.

The 3KM Akreha-Yache-Benue and Ndok Junction-Abakpa-Igoli-Moniaya Junction roads, abandoned for over two decades, will undergo Rehabilitation with a promise for a new era for the people.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Governor Otu represented by his deputy, Peter Odey pledged the administrations’ commitment to fulfilling their campaign promises of ensuring the people have access to basic infrastructure.

Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Pius Ankpo appeals to traditional rulers and community members in Yala and Ogoja Local Government Areas to take ownership of the project and support the contractors in delivering high-quality results.

Some of the residents commended the gesture by the governor.
