The Governor of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has flagged off the rehabilitation and retrofitting of 200 primary healthcare facilities across the 184 Wards in Abia.
The project tagged “Project Ekwueme” which worth about Ten billion billion naira kicked off at the Primary Healthcare Centre, Ngwu, Uzuakaoli in Bende.
These healthcare centres have been in decay and non functional for some years.

Governor Otti says he is remodelling the centres to improve access to quality healthcare, especially in the rural communities.
The Governor says the primary healthcare facilities would have its independent power supply from renewable energy sources, efficient water supply system, and other support infrastructure to improve the operational environment.
The Commissioner for Health revealed that the government is investing about N10 billion in the entire project.
When the health centres are completed, rural residents will have access to high-quality healthcare services throughout the state.
