Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Umo Eno has launched an oxygen plant, a new primary healthcare centre, and an emergency medical service network to improve healthcare in the state.

Governor Eno is leading the charge toward ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare for every resident in Akwa Ibom State.

This is not just a promise—it’s a concrete step forward in improving health outcomes for all.

The newly commissioned Akwa Ibom State Medical Oxygen Production Plant in Ituk Mbang is a ground-breaking initiative that will revolutionise healthcare delivery.

The plant, capable of producing 150 cylinders of oxygen daily, is a critical lifeline for hospitals across the state, ensuring that oxygen shortages are a thing of the past.

Governor Eno made a bold declaration that all hospitals in Akwa Ibom are now required to source their oxygen from the state-of-the-art plant, ensuring that no one has to suffer or die from avoidable oxygen deficits.

In addition to the oxygen plant, the Governor has unveiled the Akwa Ibom State Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System, alongside a Public Health Operations Centre.

This infrastructure will significantly enhance the state’s emergency response capabilities, ensuring timely, efficient medical care for every citizen.

Dr. Mohammad Ali Pate, the Federal Minister of Health and Social Welfare, lauded the idea and pledged full federal support to increase the project’s impact.

With these ambitious and proactive initiatives, Akwa Ibom is not only talking about better healthcare, but also delivering it. The state intends to become a model of efficient, responsive, and accessible healthcare for everybody.
