The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta Branch has joined others across the Country on a peaceful protest over what they called failure of the federal government to honour the agreement signed in the past.

Speaking during the peaceful demonstration after a Congress at the University Campus, the Branch Chairman, Ola Oyedele says the protest became necessary due to silence of the federal government on their demands.

He accused the government of not honouring the 2009 agreement and refused to pay the three and half months outstanding salaries.

He say the body is not interested in the FG’s TISSF Loan but they want better salary system.

Other lecturers identified lack of improvement in university systems and expressed worry that if the situation persists, they may be left with no option than to embark on nationwide strike.
