The federal government has unveiled the official theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary celebration, stating “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”
According to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), the theme underscores the importance of unity, collaboration, and patriotism across the public and private sectors, civil society, and the general citizenry in the task of building a nation defined by sustainable peace, prosperity, and progress.

A statement signed by the OGSF Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, Nigeria has overcome numerous challenges and achieved significant milestones in various economic sectors since 1960, making it essential for citizens to build on these gains while striving toward greater national objectives.

“It is expected that government activities and programmes are to align with the official theme to ensure the message resonates in all areas of our collective national endeavours in the actualisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement read in part.
Highlighting the calendar of activities, the OSGF announced that a Juma’at prayer will hold on Friday, September 26, at 1:00 p.m., while the inter-denominational church service is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, at 10:00 a.m.
Both will precede the World Press Conference fixed for Monday, September 29, at 10:00 a.m.
Nigeria will mark 65 years of independence on October 1, 2025.
