Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed says the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is working to ensure the conduct of a free and fair election.

He insists the president is committed to also providing a level playing field for all candidates in the contest for political officers.

Mr Muhammad said this when he responded to claims made by the governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai that certain people inside the presidential Villa are working against the chances of the All Progressives Congress on the ballot.

The Kaduna state Governor had made a statement on National Television insinuating that the recent policies of the federal government especially the naira redesign, cash withdrawal limit and the resurfacing of queues at petrol stations are targeted at working against the APC’s presidential election.

However, Mr Mohammed said the federal government is not officially aware of anyone working against any candidate.

“One thing i can i assure you is that this administration is focused and determined to ensure a free and fair election.

“Mr President has shown by words and deeds that he is committed to a free, fair and credible election.

2023 ELECTION: RELIGIOUS LEADERS CALL FOR PRAYERS BEFORE POLLS

Nigerians have been encouraged to pray for peace and the election of God-fearing leaders at the fast-approaching polls this month. This was emphasized by some religious leaders as they announce the conduct of an all-night prayer Crusade taking place at the Bayelsa Medical University Arena in Yenagoa next Friday.

The need for the successful and peaceful conduct of this year’s general elections continues to dominate conversations as the day draws near.

In Bayelsa State, some religious leaders are putting together a nondenominational prayer crusade tagged “ The Bayelsa Prayer Crusade” to ensure a violent free exercise at the polls.

At a press briefing held in the zonal headquarters of the Christ Embassy in Yenagoa, the spiritual leaders say there is no better time than now to pray for the nation.
