Katsina State Government and the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy have signed a landmark agreement to develop a world-class cultural hub in the State.

The initiative aims to boost tourism, preserve historical heritage, and drive economic growth through creativity and cultural promotion.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalised in Katsina during a working visit by the Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa.

In another strategic move, the Federal Government is intensifying efforts to identify and nurture creative talents while revisiting Nigeria’s rich historical legacy.

Across the nation—from the North to the South—numerous historical artifacts stand as testaments to the people’s heritage and potential.

This underscores the pivotal role of arts and culture in fostering national unity and economic progress—a factor that cannot be overstated.

Katsina State is positioning itself at the forefront of this initiative, leveraging its wealth of UNESCO-recognized historical monuments, including the renowned Gobarau Minaret.

At the event, the state government’s representative emphasised its commitment to this collaboration.

Following the agreement, the minister and her delegation visited the two emirates in the state to secure royal blessings for the proposed project.

Additionally, the team inspected key historical sites to assess their condition and explore opportunities for restoration and enhancement.
