The Federal University Otuoke in Bayelsa State has conferred an honorary Doctorate Degree on the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, in recognition of his contributions to governance, accountability, and sustainable development.

At the university’s Combined Convocation Lecture, the atmosphere was filled with celebration as academic leaders, dignitaries, and invited guests gathered to honour Governor Namadi.

The Governing Council described the award as a recognition of the governor’s commitment to transparent leadership, reforms in public service, and his administration’s focus on education, youth empowerment, agriculture, and economic growth.

Under Governor Namadi’s leadership, Jigawa State has continued to promote policies that support social development, boost local economy, and improve access to quality education, efforts that align with national priorities on good governance and sustainable development.

The university said the decision to honour him was based on his track record of service and the impact of his policies, which continue to inspire progress within and beyond the state.
