The Edo State Government has issued a strong warning to land grabbers and encroachers involved in illegal activities on government-acquired land within Benin City, especially the area known as Coral City.

In a Press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fred Itua, the Governor Okpebholo-led administration says it will not tolerate any act capable of undermining law and order in land management.

The State Government says it has uncovered fresh cases of illegal sales and development on the Lot A section of the Obagie Acquisition, popularly called Coral City.

The Government described the actions of land grabbers, speculators, and encroachers as unlawful and warned that anyone caught selling, buying, or building on the designated land will face prosecution.

According to the statement, while the entire Obagie Acquisition belongs to the Edo State Government, plans are ongoing to return Lots B, C, and D to their rightful owners and occupants in line with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to regularize ownership and ensure fairness in land administration.

The government further cautioned that any illegal structures found on Lot A will be demolished, adding that this serves as the final warning to those still involved in encroaching on government land across the state.
