The Department of Petroleum Resources said it has blocked all means of smuggling petroleum products to Camerooon, through border towns in Adamawa and Taraba States.
It is also assuring residents of the states that there would be enough fuel during Christmas and well into 2020.
Correspondent Owolabi Adenusi reports that Adamawa and Taraba states usually witness fuel queues three months to new year, particularly in October and November.
But that is not the whole story this time around, as the operational head of DPR in the state explained that it has put mechanism in place to checkmate smuggling.
Adamawa and Taraba are border states, and many believe that large amounts of Petroleum products sent to them are smuggled out of the country. But with the assurance of the DPR comes hope that this year’s Christmas may not witness a scarcity of products or hike in transport and food costs.
