India has launched air strikes on Pakistan and Pakistan-controlled Kashmir in retaliation for a terror attack two weeks ago.
The Pakistani government has strongly condemned the attack, calling it a blatant violation of international law and Pakistan’s sovereignty.
The strikes, which reportedly targeted areas including Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bahawalpur, came without warning or provocation.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office accused India of dangerous brinksmanship, warning that such acts endanger regional peace and stability.
The Pakistan Air Force responded quickly and decisively on Wednesday morning, shooting down three Indian fighter jets that had invaded Pakistani airspace.
Pakistan also downed an Indian drone.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), all aircraft were engaged and destroyed along the Line of Control.
According to local officials, the previous missile attacks occurred near residential populations.
Eyewitnesses in Kotli recounted panicked families fleeing their homes as explosions shook the region.
India claims the strikes were in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which it blames on the Resistance Front, a claim Islamabad vehemently denies.
Pakistan denies any involvement in the incident and accuses India of exploiting the tragedy to justify military intervention and divert attention away from internal political concerns.
