Finance Minister, Bruno Le Maire has said France would proceed with taxing revenues of big technology firms and does not want the United States to bring trade tariffs on how to raise levies on digital services.

This comes as President Donald Trump threatens to tax French wines in retaliation for France’s digital services tax

Earlier, the French Senate approved 3% levy that will apply to revenue from digital services earned in France by companies with more than 25 million euros that’s about $27.8 million in French revenue and 750 million euros worldwide.

Other European Union countries have announced plans for their own digital taxes.
