The Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, who is charged with defiling his wife’s 16-year-old niece, has Been found guilty of the two-count charge brought against him by the Lagos state government.

Justice Rahman Oshodi of the sexual and special offences court sitting in Ikeja held that the father of two lied in his defence, As his oral testimony in court was inconsistent with his earlier confession at the Anthony police station on Nov 29, 2021 which he was found to have made in the presence of his lawyer, his wife and the police station’s DPO.

The court added that the prosecution had successfully proven it’s case beyond reasonable doubt, having established that the survivor was a minor during the period of 18 months when the defendant was found to have repeatedly defiling her by performing oral and physical sex on her, and threatening her to remain quiet.

The court found that the evidence adduced by the prosecution including testimonies from the survivor, wife of the defendant who filed the complaint at the police station and the doctor from the Mirabel centre who examined the child were all consistent and damning against the popular doctor.

In his Sentencing, the judge noted that the defendant had earlier confessed to the crimes and that he admitted he had a sex addiction but then made a u-turn.

The court described him as a dangerous offender who must be removed from the society.

The judge also imposed the mandatory life sentence on each of the two counts and ordered that the jail terms will run concurrently.

The defendant’s name has been ordered to be registered in the Lagos state sex offenders register.
