The Italian Olympic Committee has directed that sports event at all levels in the country be suspended, as authorities intensify efforts at containing the spread of the Coronavirus outbreak.
The statement was issued after a special meeting of Italian sporting Federations on Monday which suspended all sports until April 3
Serie A matches are already played behind closed doors with Juventus beating Inter Milan 2 nil, in one of the games played on Sunday.
Italy is the worst affected European Country by the Coronavirus with over 7,000 confirmed cases and more than 450 deaths.
