inecThe Independent National Electoral Commission has six new commissioners.

At their swearing-in in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari said his administration is committed to preserving the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral process.

He also desires to see Nigerians elect leaders of their choice.

Tongues have wagged regarding President Muhamamdu Buhari’s perceived  inability to give INEC the full compliment of its National Commissioners.

The swearing-in of the six newly appointed commissioners, shortly before the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting, is in response to all such insinuations.

Buhari said their appointments came at a critical time in the nation’s political development just as INEC Chairman urged them to be alive to their responsibilities.

The new Commissioners pledge their allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and promised to do their best to improve the electioneering process.
