The Benue State Government has entered into a Public Private Partnership with an Auto company to set up a modern automobile technical shop towards boosting the economy of the state.

Governor Hyacinth Alia made this known after inspecting ongoing work at the site of the proposed technical shop.

Upon assumption of office as Chief Executive Officer of Benue State, one of the cardinal objectives of Governor Hyacinth Alia was to revamp moribund industries to effect development of the state.

The ongoing work at the mechanical workshop section of the ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development is one of the projects on the governors table as the completion of this unit is in the Governor’s desire.

The workshop according to the Governor who is represented by his Commissioner for Works, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Tiza Imojime when completed, will offer services such as Vehicle repairs, fabrications and maintenance with plans to include a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station.

He says the state government is planning a scientific exhibition to refine and expose local talents from the state in the construction industry to the outside world.

The Managing Director of the company overseeing revamping of the facility Mr Godwin Addingi assured of delivery of the work according to specifications.

The workshop is expected to commence operation by the end of November 2024.

The project when completed, will become a model to be used in the revival of more abandoned state- owned facilities to benefit the people.
