Bauchi gov heads to court over INEC’s decision to resume collation of results

Image result for I will challenge INEC's decision to continue collation of results - Gov AbubakarThe Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar, said the decision taken by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to continue the collation of votes for the March 9 governorship election which held in the state is Illegal.

He disclosed this to Journalists at the presidential villa, after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari on the matter.

State House Correspondent Mariah Olasehinde reports that the 2019 General Election brought its challenges with the Independent National Electoral Commission having to declare election in some some states inconclusive

Bauchi State was initially one of the States affected but the electoral umpire has decided to continue the collation of votes for the March Ninth Election. This decision had not gone down well with the Bauchi State Governor who described it as illegal.

Other states governors affected by INEC’s decision to declare elections in their states inconclusive are looking forward to the supplementary elections.

The Governor of Plateau State for his part, said he is more concerned with the security of Lives and property of citizens of the state than the supplementary election.

The presidency had in a Statement said that President Muhammadu Buhari will not interfere in the supplementary elections.
