The 100 million naira bail granted to the former governor of Adamawa State, Bala Ngilari, is still generating controversies.
Ngilari had been sentenced to 5 years imprisonment on allegations of fraud and corruption.
But in a twist of events, he was granted bail.
Justice Nathan Musa of the high court in Adamawa, had on the 6th of March, sentenced the former governor to five years in prison without an option of fine.
He was found guilty of corruption charges levelled against him by the Efcc.
His counsel gives a clearer picture on why he was not present in the court on the day his bail application was to be heard, and that he was granted bail in absentia.
His counsel also refuted claims that the letter from the prison, was on his medical report, as speculated.
The case is now before the Court of Appeal, Adamawa state.
