Peter Obi Benefited From 2023 Public Anger, Not Political Strength – Oshiomhole

Senator Adams Oshiomhole says Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi’s performance in the 2023 election was driven largely by public frustration rather than enduring political strength.

The APC senator argued that the cash scarcity and fuel crisis preceding the 2023 election created widespread anger among Nigerians, which translated into protest votes.

He blamed the policies introduced during the final months of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for worsening public hardship.

According to Oshiomhole, those conditions no longer exist, making it unlikely that Obi could replicate his previous electoral performance.

He also criticised Obi’s economic outlook, describing him as a trader focused on short-term gains rather than long-term national development.
