The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has pledged to crack down on illegal charter operations and related activities in Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Speaking at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja while receiving the report of the 7-Member Committee on Illegal Chartered Operations, Mr. Keyamo emphasised that unauthorised charter flights, particularly by private jet owners operating under the Permit for Non-Commercial Flight (PNCF), have long been an issue in the industry.

He stressed that some individuals exploit these licenses for illicit transactions, posing serious challenges to the sector.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enforcing regulations, and assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is determined to put an end to these violations.

The Minister also commended the committee members and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for their diligence in providing crucial documents for the investigation and assured that the committee’s recommendations would be fully implemented.
