The federal government of Nigeria has successfully secured a relaxed and more humane US visa application process for Nigerians, promising to reciprocate the same for Americans who wish to visit the country.
This followed the international outcries that greeted recent maltreatment of Nigerians in the Diasporas, especially those in the United States.
In the newly secured visa application process, Nigerians may no longer need to tender extraneous documents, compared to what used to obtain.
It would be recalled that the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa had recently advised Nigerians seeking visa application to the United States to reconsider their plan if such journey was not so important due to alleged maltreatment of Nigerians seeking US visa.
