Akpeyi conceded two second half goals which effectively handed maximum points to the visiting South Africans, and their first ever win over Nigeria in a competitive match.

The Chippa United goalkeeper apologised to Nigerians for the Eagles uninspiring performance last Saturday.

Despite the setback, he remains upbeat Nigeria will qualify for the 2019 Nations cup.

The Bafana Bafana are back home in South Africa ahead of a friendly against Zambia.

The win against Nigeria last weekend is still being celebrated by football fans and rated the second biggest achievement in the history of South African football.
