The Ekiti State secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was set on fire in the early hours of Monday, in what party officials have condemned as a “cowardly act” aimed at undermining the party’s growing influence and organisational strength in the state.

Confirming the incident, ADC State Leader Aare Amerijoye DOT.B described the attack as politically motivated, noting it occurred just hours before the party’s scheduled Reconfiguration and Affirmation Ceremony for executives across all levels — from Ward and Local Government to Senatorial Districts and the State Executive Committee.

“Our Party Secretariat was set ablaze this morning by those threatened by the rising momentum and formidable organisational structure that the Ekiti ADC is building,” Amerijoye said in a statement.

“This cowardly act is most unfortunate, yet it will only fortify our determination and unity. The formidable Ekiti State ADC has come to stay.”

Despite the setback, the party confirmed that the planned ceremony would proceed as scheduled.

“Our spirit remains unbroken; our vision, unstoppable,” Amerijoye added, underscoring the party’s resilience in the face of the attack.
