Members of the Osun State Transport Management System in Wednesday embarked on a solidarity rally in support of their Chairman, Nurudeen Alowonle.
This follows an attack on the state Secretariat of the Management System in Osogbo on Tuesday where the perpetrators were calling for his removal over alleged extortion.
Carrying placards with various inscriptions, the members also passed a vote of confidence on Nurudeen Alowonle for his transparency and accountability since he assumed office.
They also alleged the perpetrators of the attack of carting away 6.5 million naira from the Secretariat during the attack calling on the state Government to arrest and prosecute them.
They described all the allegations leveled against Nurudeen Alowonle as baseless and an attempt to soil his name.
The protesters vowed not to welcome the return of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW in the state after it has been disbanded by the state Government.
For now, calm has returned to the state Secretariat of the Management System along Sadiat-Ilesa garage roundabout in Osogbo and its environ just as security operatives are stationed there.
