The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Gabriel Dewan, has sworn in nine elected members into the state assembly.Eight lawmakers from the All Progressives Congress and one from the Labour Party took the oath of office in the early hours of today at the old government house in the State Capital.
The member representing Jos East state constituency, Madaki Ajiji, has now been elected the deputy Speaker of the House by the lawmakers.
No reason was given as to why the remaining seven members of the APC did not participate in the exercise by the Speaker.
