As part of activities marking the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, The President of the Defense and Police Officers Wife’s Association and Wife of the Chief of Defense Staff, Oghogho Musa has donated food items to 120 widows at the headquarters of the Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe in Yenagoa
A medical outreach was also conducted for the bereaved widows as the association commensurate with them for the loss of their loved ones.
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is set aside to honor Nigeria’s fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in their service to the nation.
To commemorate this year’s event, the Wife of the Chief of Defense Staff and President of the Defense and Police Officers Wives Association, Oghogho Musa is in Yenagoa to show solidarity and support for the widows left behind by the deceased soldiers.
She met with the commander of Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Olusegun Ferreira who shows appreciation for the outreach program.
Beginning with a medical outreach at the OPDS headquarters, the DEPOWA President also leads the distribution of food items to the widows present at the occasion.
Mrs. Magdalene Itive is a mother of four, who could not hold back her emotions while expressing gratitude for the laudable gesture.
Although more activities are outlined to mark the occasion, the outreach comes as a major source of relief for the widows facing the difficulties of the new year.
