The Minister of state for Defence, Bello Matawalle says Nigeria will soon take delivery of military equipment from Turkey to help in the fight against Insurgency, banditry and other criminal acts.
He also says the Defence Industry Corporation, DICON in Kaduna will soon commence production of military equipment and hardwares that meet international standards.
Most regions in the country are faced with one security challenge or the other.
But, the federal government says it is doing everything possible to make the country safe.
The Minister of state for Defence, Bello Matawalle is on a visit to his hometown, Maradun, in Zamfara state and he says tackling Insecurity is a key agenda of the Tinubu administration.
He adds that government recently acquired military equipment from Turkey, to help the military in its fight against Insecurity in troubled parts of the country.
The minister further says the Defence Industry Cooperation in Kaduna is due to commence production of military equipment that can compete globally.
This is against the background of the president’s recent assent to the Defence Industry cooperation Bil.
The minister also revealed that the defence headquarters will soon begin touring all country’s theater commands with a view to assessing their needs and requirements for effective service delivery.
This development is coming days after the Chief of Defence Staff, alongside other service chiefs as well as the IGP told the National Assembly that some Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East plan attacks from prison in connivance with prison warders.
