There is need for effective collaboration between the Federal Government and the thirty state Governors in the Country in different sectors to ensure rapid socioeconomic growth and development.
The minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu was speaking at the closing of the 22nd Edition of the Joint Planning Board and National Council on Development planning meetings hosted by the Osun State Government.
It is an annual meeting of Commissioners for Budget and Economic planning, their permanent Secretaries and other critical stakeholders from all states of the federation .
For the past three days, they have been brainstorming and interrogating their planning to achieve inclusive Economic growth.
The Minister of Budget and National planning said though Federal Government’s revenue generation has improved but Inflation is still an issue to be addressed to FasTrack national development.
The Governor believes the outcome of the meeting will drive the State development agenda.
The Acting Comptroller General of Customs says all service chiefs in the country have keyed into federal Government’s programme.
After a number of technical sessions, each state resolved to examine their own local peculiarities and invest heavily in human capital development to create highly skilled manpower needed for economic development among others.
The theme of the meeting is ‘Imperatives for Restoring Nigeria on the path of sustainable Economic Growth and Development’.
