NBA apologises to Nigerians over failure to address issues

NBA APOLOGISES TO NIGERIANS OVER FAILURE TO ADDRESS ISSUES OF NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

NBA President Yakubu Maikyau

The president of the Nigerian Bar Association Yakubu Maikyau has apologized to Nigerians for the abdication of their role.

He noted that members of the Bar, are reputed more for how much fees they charge their clients as opposed to the discharge of their primary call which is to offer guidance for the advancement of the cause of the country.

This apology, Mr Maikyau says, has become necessary because, no other group of professionals other than lawyers, are called to this privileged position.

The NBA president says lawyers need to do more, than focus on the remunerations they get from their clients.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented by the Secretary to the government of the federation Boss Mustapha, noted that government is continuous and no one government can solve all the country’s problems.

The inclusion of youth and women in decision-making is an aspect of governance the deputy secretary general of the United Nations wants to the incoming administration to allow.
