Police Arrest 7 Man Fake Bandits Gang In Anka LGA, Zamfara

POLICE IN ZAMFARA WORRIED ABOUT BANDITS ACTIVITIES IN ZAMFARA

SUPECTS PARADED BY THE ZAMFARA STATE POLICE COMMAND

A Nursing Mother who doubles as a gun runner has been arrested by the police in Zamfara.

The suspect who is a native of Katsina state Specialises in transporting riffles, Ammunition and giving information to bandits in their Hideouts

A traditional ruler and Six other Suspects who disguised as bandits and placed levies on their own Communities with threat letters, were also arrested

Bandits placing levies on Communities before they harvest their farm produce or as protection money, is now the new trend in Zamfara

Terrorists had prior to this year’s rainy season placed levies on some Communities to enable them clear and farm on their lands

And now in harvest time, they are back to tax the farming communities

The Police arrested a six man fake Criminal gang, including a village head, who had posed as bandits to place levies on their Communities.

The Suspects are natives of Anka Local Government area in Zamfara

Parading the suspects, Spokesman of the Zamfara police command says the suspects had so far collected millions of Naira from five Communities to avoid been attacked

The levies according to the police were paid through a Bank account opened by the Suspects for the same purpose

A cash sum of Seven hundred thousand naira was recovered from the Suspects

A Nursing Mother who doubles as a gun runner was also arrested while waiting to deliver live ammunition to a notorious bandit kingpin known as Dawa in Zamfara state

Fifteen Kidnap Victims mostly women, Including two Toddlers, were rescued by the police after fifty days in Captivity.

This is coming a few days after residents of Gidan-Goga village in the Maradun Local Government area were said to have paid a 20 million naira levy imposed by a notorious bandits’ leader, Bello Turji, to forestall attacks on their community.

The police have appealed to residents especially in rural areas to always report cases of levies placed by bandits, to ensure prompt action by security agencies.
