Police parades suspected kidnappers, Others in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has paraded eight suspects involved in kidnapping and armed robbery in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner, Mr Paul Ayemoni Says the success of the Operation is down to the cooperation and timely information from members of the public.

Paraded are Criminals, apprehended in several parts of Ekiti State for Crimes ranging from Murder, Kidnapping and Armed Robbery

Notable among the Suspects apprehended in Ijan Ekiti are a Gang of 3,who after Kidnapping one Adams Segun in his Farm and collecting 1.5 Million Naira from a Victim, went ahead to kill him.

According to the Representative of the Command, Paul Ayemoni, he says the combing exercise by men of the RRS in a Government Reserved Forest that bordered Odo-Ado, Ijan-Ekiti, Ise, Emure and Ikere ensured the arrest of all the Criminals and rescue of Victims.

Even though some of the Criminals are still on the run, the Suspects in Police Custody will be arraigned in Court soon.

Two suspected kidnappers have also been arrested by Joint Task Force (JTF) operatives in Ekiti.

The suspects who held their four victims hostage for days, were arrested by a JTF comprising the military, police, Amotekun corps and local hunters.

The victims include a school principal, two teachers and a nurse. They were abducted last week at Irele-Ekiti, in Ajoni Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State.

Information available indicates that the N3 million ransom collected by the suspects from the victims, was also recovered.

The collaborative efforts between all stakeholders and Security agencies in the State has yielded a lot of positive results culminating in an improved security situation and a reduction in the number of abductions witnessed in the State.

The presence of the operatives of the Western Nigeria Security Network Otherwise known as the Amotekun Corps has also helped with their ability and knowledge of the Local environment coming in handy.
