Wife of the Governor of Ondo State, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has flagged-off skills acquisition and empowerment training for indigent women across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The is the first phase of the skills acquisition and empowerment training programme of the Wife of Ondo State Governor, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu.

The programme, was organised in collaboration with the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the Foundation for Wives of Ondo State Officials and Female Political Appointees, FOWOSO, to empower indigent women.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Ondo First Lady said about 180 indigent women across the state, will be equipped with entrepreneurial skills and start-up funds.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Bunmi Osadahun, the governor’s wife stressed the need to improve socioeconomic status of women.
She noted that the current economic situation in Nigeria, is a reflection of inadequate empowerment of women.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Gender Research and Documentation, Temitope Daniyan, who doubles as the Coordinator of the initiative, said there will be an evaluation and monitoring exercise after the training, to measure progress made by beneficiaries.
