Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed about 49 Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists along the Bama-Mandara-Damasak axis of Borno state.
The troops also rescued two Chibok along with two babies.
This success was achieved through the various joint patrols and ambushes against the terrorists in the last six weeks of counter-insurgency operations in Sambisa Forest and the Lake Chad region.
Reviewing the joint military operations, the Theatre Commander Major General Christopher Musa disclosed that the Military’s ultimate desire in the joint counter-insurgency operations, was to restore peace in the northeast region by 2022.
According to him the last six weeks of military operations has made troops identified and detonated 10 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the forest, Lake Chad region and Mandara Mountains.
