He noted that the fight against corruption has not been abandoned but ongoing.
“But again, you cannot set aside the judiciary. Judiciary has a lot to do in making sure that things are done appropriately.
“If you look at the number of convictions, that the EFCC have gotten so far, in this administration they’ve gotten more than the previous administration put together.
He went on to say that the current administration has done more for infrastructure than any previous administration.
Speaking on the presentation to the public of the 80 page manifesto of APC Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Shettima, tagged ‘Renewed Hope 2023 Action Plan for a Better Nigeria’ the APC Chieftain said he believes the Aiswaju government, will improve on all of what the Buhari’s administration has done so far.
“We’ll agree that Asiwaju is very good when it comes to building economic structures, social structures, and security structures.
“He has done it before, he would do it better and he has explained it in a very simplistic fashion.
Nigeria’s Ambassador to Burundi/Patron, South East APC Asiwaju-Shettima Disciples, Elijah Onyeagba stated that the campaign documents of the APC has been made available online for anyone and everyone to have access to it.
Speaking on youth inclusion, he said the young people of Nigeria at this point in time are very worried because of the current situation in the country.
According to him, what the renewed document have done is to say, listen the incoming Asiwaju administration will not tax people the more as there are always issues with the budget which is always challenged by way of funding.
“We have 20 trillion right now. Our revenue profile is not enough to be able to support it. Therefore, what are the things we want to do to be able to balance the budget? And most times, what we have done is to borrow, which is to increase debt.
“When you dissect the Asiwaju’s document, you’re going to begin to look at areas where he talked about looking at the blockchain technology, the ways of funding the budget.
“The world is evolving, we now have blockchain technologies, a lot of countries in the world are also beginning to look at blockchain as one of the things that are one of the areas of raising financing to be able to fund your project or fund your budget.
“Asiwaju’s renewed hope documents, have clearly marked all the things that he would do for job creation, increasing of taxes for alcohol and tobacco consumption to ensure that we widen the tax net.
Ambassador Onyeagba stated that what is important for us is not to increase taxes but to get more people into the tax system.
According to him, a lot of people in SMEs don’t pay taxes.
Part of Asiwaju’s agenda is to expect more and import less. Comrade Adewale added borroeing is going to be limited, and if we have to borrow at all, it has to be put at infrastructure that will create funds and sustain itself.
Concerning the energy sector, the Asiwaju document discusses laws that would allow industry players to enter the industry and create a modular energy source for local governments.
“He talked about the hydrocarbon and how it’s going to make sure that these things are unbundled and carefully nurtured, and that they use technology to eradicate oil tests.”
“The document also discussed profiting from the gas flaring that we’re accustomed to in this country, trapping this gas, and improving on the pipeline that this administration started all the way to Europe, ensuring that we can equal and surpass the gains that Russia has made over the years by supplying gas to Europe.”
“These are things that we bring energy funds to our country. He also spoke about housing, how he’s going to make sure that mortgage finances are very open to many companies and individuals to tap into it and a lot more.
