Abducted fmr UI deputy VC Adigun Agbaje regains freedom

A Former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Ibadan, Professor Adigun Agbaje, who was abducted along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway has been released.

According to a credible source from the institution, he was discharged a few hours ago and is currently receiving medical examination.

“He was released a few hours ago, according to the source. He is well and is being examined by a doctor.”

The source did not say whether a ransom was paid for the lecturer’s release as the kidnappers had initially demanded¬† N50 million for his release.

Prof. Agbaje, who is on sabbatical at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, was on his way to Ibadan at about 6pm on Friday, when he was kidnapped around Sat Guru Maharaji Village.
