Bandits Kill Three, Abduct Nursing Mothers, Babies In Kanoma District File Picture of Bandits in Zamfara State

Three persons were killed while eight Nursing mothers alongside their babies were abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits in the Tauji area of Kanoma South District in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State

Animals were rustled, shops and silos belonging to the locals were also vandalized by the terrorists


District Head of Kanoma South Ibrahim Nabature Confirmed the incident to Newsmen

He says the incident occurred early hours of Sunday at about 0130hrs, when suspected bandits stormed the area on motorcycles in their large number carrying sophisticated weapons and started shooting sporadically and subsequently killed three and kidnapped eight Persons


The kidnap Victims are breastfeeding mothers and their babies

He adds that the locals were helpless as no one could confront the terrorists


The Traditional ruler noted that the bandits spent time unleashing mayhem on the people without any help from the security agencies

This attack is coming barely twenty four hours after fifteen worshippers were killed in a Mosque in Ruwan Jema Community in Bukkuyum Local Government area of the state


Communities in Zamfara have continued to bear the brunt of armed Bandits attack since 2011 despite efforts by Government at all level to stem the tide.

Police in the state are yet to comment on the incident as the spokesperson is not responding to phone calls put across as at the time of filling this report.
