President Muhammadu Buhari has held a closed-door meeting with a delegation of Governors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which took place inside the President’s office, was brief after which some of the Governors moved over to the office of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
It was not known what the agenda of the meeting was as none of the participants was willing to speak with the waiting reporters.
However, it may have centered on the party’s direction in the run-up to the 2023 general elections and how its campaign will go.
Those present include Governors Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi); Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos); Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti); Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa); Dapo Abiodun (Ogun); Abubakar Bello (Niger); Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe); Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa) and Deputy Governor of Ebonyi, Dr Eric Igwe.
The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress had emerged after its Special Convention and Presidential Primaries held at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
The Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos has also since chosen former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima, as his running mate.
Former Presidential aspirants of the party are expected to also meet on Friday as the party continues to pull itself together ahead of the start of official campaign for the 2023 Elections.
