Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has flagged off the construction of ten thousand housing units for Internally Displaced Persons in the state.
The Housing unit project located in Maradun local government area of the state according to the Governor is part of his administration’s effort to providing shelter to Internally Displaced Persons as a result of Armed banditry attacks and of flood victims
Zamfara state now has over thirty four thousand Internally Displaced Persons caused by Banditry and Flood Disaster
The state Governor Bello Matawalle says all is set to build ten thousand Housing Units to resettle all IDPs in the state.
He noted that the project will also add value to the state in its efforts to addressing housing challenges especially for the vulnerable persons, reduce crime rate and poverty in the state
Earlier, the Special Adviser to Governor Bello Matawalle on Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Fa’ika Ahmed described the project as a welcome development considering the rising number of IDPs in the state
She assures that the Project will be completed within the shortest possible time
