PTF, Northern Traditional rulers meet over COVID-19 response

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency and Northern traditional leaders are currently meeting on the response and engagement to Covid-19.

The meeting has in attendance the Sultan of Sokoto, the minister of health, the Chairman PTF on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, and experts in the health sector.

In his remark, the minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire  said Africa is still struggling to obtain the vaccine, and the countries making the vaccines are prioritizing themselves first before any other country is considered

He added that countries of the world are scrambling for the vaccines.

The minister said  some countries in Europe and America are found to be hoarding vaccines, he described this as vaccine nationalism.

Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha said Nigeria is not testing enough, adding that testing kits are being recycled.

Mr Mustapha said there is need to verify the claim that 1.2 million Nigerians have been tested. He added that there will be a mandatory test, and 450 people will be tested daily per local government.
