COVID-19 increases humanitarian emergencies globally

One of the greatest obstacles to providing humanitarian services this year has been the outbreak of the coronavirus.

The United Nations is now focused on ensuring that the impact of the pandemic is mitigated among aid workers and vulnerable persons as the world commemorates humanitarian day.

The United Nations has responded to this by initiating strategic priorities in the global humanitarian response plan to Covid-19

The Global Humanitarian Response plan aims to contain the spread of the pandemic, reduce fatality and ensure the protection of refugees and IDPs especially those vulnerable to the pandemic

Around the world, over 22 million cases have been confirmed with over 700 thousand deaths.
