Buhari condemns gunmen attack on Plateau community

Image result for attack on Plateau community, orders deployment of security personnelPresident Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the attack on a community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State and ordered security agencies to prevent further attacks on the communities.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, President Buhari is in contact with Plateau Governor Simon Lalong.

He is also in contact with the military, police and other security agencies in the state to get details of what happened and what could be done to forestall a future occurrence.

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen at Kulben village in Mangu Local Government had on Thursday killed 12 persons and injured one other injured.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Terna Tyopev who confirmed the incident said the command received a distress call from residents and forces were immediately mobilised to the area to prevent further attacks.

Mr Typopev said though no arrest has been made, but the force is doing everything possible to ensure the criminals are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

He advised residents of the community to remain calm and provide useful information that would enable them track down the perpetrators.
