Less than forty eight hours after the Killing of an Obafemi Awolowo University Professor of Paediatrics, Professor Jerome Elusiyan, by some unknown gunmen, the University has announced the demise of another promising academic and a prominent member of OAU community, Doctor. Victoria Oluwaremilekun Adeniyi.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olanrewaju says Doctor Victoria Oluwaremilekun Adeniyi, was until her death early Sunday, the Acting Head of the Department of Dramatic Arts.
She directed this year’s Convocation play which was staged four days ago and was part of the academic procession of the grand finale of the University’s 44th Convocation.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, has directed that necessary papers be filled for the conduct of a post mortem.
The Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities, OAU chapter, Dr. Adeola Egbedokun, in a conversation, described the death of the lecturer as a “sad development.”
