Fire broke out at Owode Onirin market in Ikorodu on Sunday destroying 15 shops.
Other valuables worth millions of naira were also destroyed.
Though the cause of the fire could not immediately be ascertained as reports suggest that the Owode-Onirin market has been without power supply since 2017.
Confirming the incident, Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said though no life was lost in the inferno but valuable goods including other shops were burnt.
Eye witnesses say the fire started from one of the shops in the market.
