Former Congolese military leader Bosco Ntaganda may spend the next 30 years in prison.
The International Criminal Court sentenced him for atrocities including murder, rape and conscripting child soldiers.
He was found guilty on 18 charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity for acts committed when he was military operations chief for a militia group in 2002 to 2003.

He was also found guilty of personally murdering a Catholic priest.
But while the judges gave him the maximum sentence allowed by the ICC in terms of the number of years, they said that “despite their gravity” his crimes did not warrant a full-life prison term.
