As part of efforts towards attaining safe delivery, reduce complications during childbirth and infant mortality, the Rotary Club of Maryland, has donated birthing kits and plastic waste bins to Mende public health centre in Lagos.
1000 Pregnant women who will deliver their babies at Mende public health centre, will now have access to free delivery packs.
President of rotary Maryland Adewale Sanni says that maternal and child health care is one of the major areas of focus of Rotary International Organisation, and the kit will assist pregnant women who visit primary health centres due to lack of funds .
District governor rotary 9110 assures the public that all the promised kits would be supplied to the health centre throughout the year.
This medical intervention is hoped to help the health centre align with working on one of the focus of Rotary International, which is Maternal and Child Health.
