The Lagos state ministry of health said ten of the twelve victims of Ijegun pipeline explosion, taken to Gbagada General Hospital and Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, have died of severe burns.
The permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr Titilayo Gonclaves said seven of the victims died at Gbagada, while three died at LASUTH.
Two persons had died in the explosion on July the 1st. This now brings to twelve, the casualty figure from the the incident.
The health ministry said of the 22 persons rescued by Lagos State Ambulance Service, nine were taken to LASUTH, 12 to Gbagada General Hospital and one to Alimosho.
The permanent secretary said the Lagos state government will continue to provide the best care for the remaining victims, until they are fully recovered.
