President of the court of appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa has recused herself from the presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
A judgment by other judges on the panel held that the allegation by the PDP was insufficient to require the stepping down of the judge.
But Justice Bulkachuwa went ahead to recuse herself from hearing the petition filed by former President Atiku Abubakar and the PDP against the election of President Muhammadu Buhari during the presidential election in February.
The development is coming exactly one week to the swearing-in of President Buhari for a second term of another four years.

Counsel to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP, Livy Ozuokwu asked the Chairman of the tribunal to recuse herself on the grounds that she will be biased in the case.
She had recused herself after a prolonged sitting.
