32nd ordinary session of the African Union kicks off

The meeting of the 32nd ordinary session of the Assembly of the African Union has kicked off with a closed door session.

Under the  theme “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation”,  the Heads of States and Governments of the 55 member States would consider reports on institutional reforms of the AU which started in 2017, the African continental Free trade Area and the implementation of the Assembly decision on post-cotonou negotiations.

The opening ceremony commences at 11.30am where Mr. Paul Kagame, Rwandan President will be stepping down as the Chairperson of African Union for Egypt’s Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
