The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has reassured Nigerians that it is not leaving any stone unturned to deliver free, fair and transparent elections.
Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, stated this at the inauguration of two committees to ensure sensitive and non sensitive materials are well delivered and adequately monitored.
The 18- member committee has as members, 3 National Commissioners, a
representative of the Central Bank of Nigeria, representatives of security
agencies and is chaired by a National Commissioner.
Also inaugurated is the National Collation Centre Committee to be chaired
by National Commissioner, Aminat Zakari.
In a swift reaction, the presidential campaign organisation of the People’s Democratic Party has rejected the appointment of Amina Zakari as the chairperson of the National Collation Centre Committee.
It accuses Amina Zakari of being the link between INEC and the APC in their attempt to manipulate the outcome of the 2019 elections.
