The 2019 Interpol week has come to end with the Nigerian police and immigration service pledging to serve better in terms of handling criminal cases.
International crimes, involving Nigerians has had a negative effect on the country’s image
As part of measures to address regional insecurity and enhance collaboration among security agencies, the inspector general of police announced a collaboration with paramilitary agencies in combating international crimes.
At the closing of the long Interpol week, participants were urged to make use of prerequisite knowledge gained to approach crimes.
All 194 member countries are on the Interpol data base.
For it’s part, the immigration service is committed to ensuring that it assesses properly, the kind of people that enter and leave the country.
The capacity of the participants were greatly enhanced and it is expected that this will impact on their approach to addressing the challenges of
policing in the 21st century.
